ITE – indirect tank
ITE indirect tank is a water heater used in solar applications. The ITE indirect tank is standard available in capacities varying from 389 up to 1024 liters with a nominal output from 52 up to 87 kW. For larger solar installations the large IT appliances are used.
ITS
ITS is an indirect water heater for a wide range of applications. This water heater is fitted with 2 single-wall spiral heat exchangers. This appliance is available in capacities varying from 289 up to 1007 litres.

ST – storage vessel
ST storage vessel is available in capacities varying from 312 up to 2820 liters which makes it very suitable to numerous applications. The ST storage vessel has PermaGlas Ultra Coat second-generation glass coating to prevent corrosion.

PHE – plate heat exchanger
PHE plate heat exchanger is a copper soldered plate heat exchanger. The PHE is available with a nominal output varying from 50 up to 275 kW. This is a very maintenance friendly plate heat exchanger because there are no gaskets. Optimum security thanks to the double separation-construction.

IT
IT is an indirect water heater for a wide range of applications. This water heater is fitted with 1 heat exchanger. This appliance is available in capacities varying from 300 to 2800 litres. The tank has a PermaGlas Ultra Coat second-generation glass coating to prevent corrosion.
Indirect water heaters
In addition to direct fired gas water heaters, A.O. Smith manufactures indirect water heaters (storage tanks), either with or without integral heat exchangers, in the range of 289-2800 litres. Tanks without a heat exchanger are called ‘ST’ tanks, those with one coil are ‘IT’ tanks and those with twin coils are called ‘ITS’.
